After competing in the Cup of Excellence in 2007 and placing in the top four places, the brothers got the idea to start their own micro mill after realising they had finished in the top four places. Because coffee prices were relatively low at the time, they concluded that it would be beneficial to start their own mill. This decision was motivated by their previous success. As a corollary of this, the eight of them reached the conclusion that they should collaborate on an endeavour to add more value to coffee.
